February 29, 2016 – BLACKWATER production notes
Can you believe it?
Well… This has been a heck of a month!
Both books are now available in paperback and the first animated trailer for BLACKWATER is complete and posted. My good friend and neighbor, Tom, asked me how long it took to make it and I had to pause to take stock.
The animations from the trailer are assembled from the CGI illustrations included in the book, which were created with original art and animation along with some recycled art from previous projects because, after all, I have been doing this a long time. Once I had a female model built and rigged, I manipulated it to create all the other females and the same with the males. I had to create all new textures and all new clothing and all new hair styles.
Fortunately, I could swap models and scene elements between BLACKWATER and TURTLE ISLAND, which helped cut down production times and costs a bit but I still had to create the underwater prison and the condos and the houses and the vehicles and the cave with all its machinations, all from scratch.
The initial still illustrations required around two months to complete.
Add to that…
Animating the scenes required an additional month.
So there you have it…
I don’t really know.
But, hey, I think you’ll enjoy it!
Sandy offered her absentee father a tacit slap on the back for high tailing the truck away from this offensive woman.
